PUBLICIS HEALTH NAMES KLAIRA SIMON AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL TRIAL EXPERIENCE AT LANGLAND U.S.
KATE SPENCER ASSUMES NEW ROLE AS GLOBAL CLIENT LEAD, CTE
NEW YORK, NY, August 3, 2020 — Publicis Health today announced the appointment of Klaira Simon as Managing Director of Clinical Trial Experience (CTE) at Langland U.S., a division of the award-winning creative and healthcare communications agency within Publicis Health. Kate Spencer, who formerly held the role, will transition to the new role of Global Client Lead, CTE. Both roles are effective immediately.
Klaira Simon joins Langland with more than 12 years of leadership in clinical trial patient recruitment. Her rich experience was earned most recently at Spectrum Science Communications, and prior to that at major CROs, including Parexel and UBC. As Managing Director of Langland’s U.S. CTE, Simon is responsible for building and maintaining existing client relationships, driving business growth and innovation, and managing and developing the agency’s robust team of clinical trial specialists.
“It’s a tremendous honor to join the team and continue to build on Langland’s legacy of industry-leading creativity and innovation,” said Simon. “As biopharma companies increasingly understand that patient relationships start at the earliest phases of drug development, Langland’s history of patient-centric work is profoundly relevant. With expected growth in the CTE market in the near future, we are poised to build on the strong foundation that Langland already has laid in the U.S.”
Kate Spencer began her tenure at Langland in 1998 and has been an integral part of the global Langland team for more than two decades, initially founding the company’s CTE discipline and successfully leading the U.K.-based CTE team in support of more than 400 trials across the world. After four years spent establishing and growing Langland’s first U.S. office in New York City, Spencer returns home to the company’s headquarters in London. In her new role as Global Client Lead, CTE, she will serve global client needs and act as a liaison between the U.S.- and U.K.-based teams in support of global CTE business.
“We are thrilled to see an inspirational leader like Kate Spencer continue to bring her considerable talent to the global Langland stage,” said Philip Chin, co-founder of Langland and President Europe, Publicis Health. “Additionally, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Klaira Simon to the Langland family and usher in a new era of U.S. leadership. Beyond her wealth of insight and industry experience, Klaira brings unrivaled passion and enthusiasm that is sure to invigorate each of our U.S. CTE engagements.”
“As Publicis Health expands our Clinical Trial Experience offering around the world, having leaders like Klaira and Kate will help to raise the profile and visibility of this important capability within our portfolio,” said Alexandra von Plato, CEO, Publicis Health. “A warm welcome to Klaira and congratulations to Kate on her new role.”
Simon will be based in Langland’s New York office, alongside other Publicis Health agencies including Heartbeat, Publicis Health Media, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, Digitas Health, Razorfish Health, and PlowShare Group.
