PUBLICIS HEALTH LAUNCHES "PUBLICIS HEALTH ACADEMY"

New York, NY, June 1, 2020—Publicis Health, the health and wellness vertical of Publicis Groupe, today announced the launch of the Publicis Health Academy—an eight-week immersive virtual learning and mentorship program for college students.

 In April, Publicis Health made the difficult decision to suspend its competitive, award-winning summer internship program due to COVID-19. However, investing in the next generation of healthcare communications professionals and creative innovators remain a top priority for the company.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the transformation of the healthcare industry. And transformation requires innovation, which is why it is essential that we continue to invest in rising and diverse talent,” said Pamela Berman, Chief Talent Officer, Publicis Health.

The new summer program will require students to attend one virtual session led by subject matter experts from across the Publicis Health network each week, with one-on-one mentorship and specialized career coaching in between.

“We realized that many students are juggling summer jobs, online classes, and also working to maintain their mental health in an extraordinarily challenging time. We wanted to ensure that the program was flexible enough to fit into their lives, while maintaining the educational and networking value of an in-person internship,” said Laurie Mellon, SVP, Talent Programs, Publicis Health. 

The Publicis Health Academy is comprised of 88 students from 47 colleges and universities across the country. Additionally, through Publicis Groupe’s partnership with the 4A’s, several PH Academy students come from the 4A’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), a development program dedicated to cultivating a stronger pipeline of ethnically and racially diverse talent.

 In addition to the Publicis Health Academy summer program, Publicis Health is partnering with American Advertising Federation (AAF) for its National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC); Campus Philly’s virtual summer series; and Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) student-organized Camp Adventure, a free virtual summer camp that offers students and recent graduates hands-on experience in the field of advertising during the COVID-19 pandemic.
